Dental schools strive to attract and retain the high-quality faculty that is essential to a well-functioning school. To assess the availability of dental school faculty, ADEA conducts an annual survey on dental school faculty, the ADEA Survey of Vacant Budgeted Faculty Positions. The survey collects information on the flow of faculty members into and out of U.S. dental schools, as well as the quantity, type, and duration of vacancies, in order to build a picture of the dental school faculty workforce.
